- Hi brothers and sisters,
I am a rock drummer, playing in a (hard) rock band called THE TEMPLE. We've been active for 15 years now, having released 5 albums on our label (12:01 records).
I have been active in bands since 1987. I started in a prog band named Windows, where I met The Temple's bass player Manu De Ros. He has been my main and prefered bass player for over two decades now.
I went on a death metal hiatus in the early 90's and came back to prog with MERRY-GO-ROUND (1 album) in 1992, back with Manu De ros , current Temple's Lead vocalist and guitarist Olivier Van Houte and Serge Van Cutsem on keyboards. We toured in Belgium, Holland and Russia.
After M-G-R disbanded, Olivier, Manu & I decided to form a more classic hard rock band: THE TEMPLE, playing our personal compositions and songs from our favourite bands, which would include DEEP PURPLE, THE CULT, RUSH, KISS,and many others from the 60's up to now...
We just released our fifth album called " After tea time" , and we are currently promoting it on stage .
I see myself as a classic rock drummer, powerful and precise, yet always in need to improvise. I studied Jazz and pratice classic snare drums patterns, which are ingredients that widens my playing, although I do not consider myself a jazz player. Groove being for me the most important thing in drumming, above technique, speed and dexterity. I also play tambourine and cow bells, and write lyrics for my band.
Most of all, I play the drums for the fun of it and the love of music.
My drum heroes are : Ian Paice, Neil Peart, Terry Bozzio and many others...
