I'm a christian single professional that developed a strong interest in playing the drums at age 14 yrs old. In realizing this interest in the drums, I then learned that I was able to play by ear. I've never gone to school for this gift, but I do take my special gift very seriously. I've played for several churches in the New York tri-state area, and have been playing for about 15+ years. I can pretty much play anything I hear, but I enjoy playing jazz and gospel music the most. I own a 5pc Tama swingstar set with the Zildjian platinum series cymbals. I would also like to add that I also play other percussion instruments such as: Congas, bongos, timbales, etc.
Hey Patsy jut wanted to get back at cha! Sorry it took a minute but wanted to thank you for the compliments. I'll be passing through your site more often. Post some vids up gurl!!! POOF!!!!!!!!
Praise GOD. I'm so glad I was led to your page. The Holy Spirit just started flowing as soon as the soundtracks began. It is always a pleasure to meet brother's and sister's in Christ.Continue doing what your doing.
My first professional touring set of drums was a Tama Swingstar back in 1986, It started off as a 5pc set and by 1990 (before I sold it) grew into an 8pc set with a rack, a Roland pad 8 controller, a couple of Tama electronic pads triggering a Roland R-8 drum machine.
The funny thing is that I was one of them drummers that whatever came out I bought..... I had the whole remote Hi-hat, double pedal, triggering samples but guess what.... I only used everything at the same time once! After the 1 1/2 hours breaking all of that stuff down by myself, shortly after I sold the drum set to a drummer from a Church in San Francisco ( I sold the 8pc set for the same price I bought the original set for) and I included the rack and some extra hardware because that the time I sold it I was playing with a band 5 nights a week making very good money and I had just bought a new Sonor Fusion set.
Anyway I wish you the best, keep playing and know that it's not what your playing! It's how you play it and knowing what to play that matters the most!
