First up, much respect for being on the throne for some great gigs. I'm not familiar with your work but no-one gets where you've been with anything but fantastic musicianship and an attitude to match.
Secondly, as a working drummer who watches his diet and does a small amount of exercise, I'm not experiencing any problems. However, I'm always interested in how to maximize my potential, so do you have any general advice for the gigging player?
Wha's up GG !!
I haven't hear from you for a while. I hope you are doing well man !!!
I'm just stopping your page to show you love.
I'm at work right now but It've been slow and I'm on computer for this job, so I could say "HI" to you !!!
I was so busy working, practicing and making connections for music .... oh ma~~~n !!! I'm so tired lately ...
Do you know Sax players named Gene Ghee and Charie Davis (maybe wrong spelling) ??
I met then through school. They are very good players who has such a beautiful tones man !!!
Gene has his own group and giging in Brooklyn, so I went out there to check them out and meet more musicians.
We have a show from school tomorrow Sat. Charli put me on Charie Davis group. Actually we have 2 drummers with me and he was so hard on the other guy on last rehearsal. He didn't like his cymbal sound or something and he made him to change angle of cymbal ..... oh bo ~~~y !!!
We are 9~10 peoples like big band, everybody seemed like scared of him but when I started play with them he didn't have any complain about me and said " you sound good !!!"
I wasn't scared of him but I knew he didn't believe me that I could play because I was a female ..... as usual but he is going to make me to play drum solo only me. I asked him if we could do 4 bars solo and he said "No !!!" ..... that's it, so I have to practice solo tonight ..... man !!!!
Anyways, I'll do my best tomorrow.
About rehearsal room, I saw Wally last week and he want to be in it too and he wants studio for pay monthly, so as the other drummer, my friend from school ....
I guess I'll contact the studio in downtown Brooklyn one remember ??
If you want to be a part of us let me know.
I don't have much time right now, so I'll need only one day a week to start for myself.
George, Thank you so much for your kind words. We'll catch up more soon. This week is I'm busy doing a few dates on Udu for Frank Giorgini himself! Mr. Udu! If not hip~you soon will be. A sound that is medicine for all that ails! Hahaha!! I'm looking forward to sharing ~ Enjoy your day! ciao, -janelle
How are you doing and what are you up too these days? The studio space is nice. It's a medium size room with a couple of amps, piano and a three piece drum set. The drums are nice with two cymbals. The room cost $10 an hour. You pay as you come for I don't think there is a monthly charge. The owner will give you a key that you can come whenever you want but you must sign a sheet to say when you wish to use the room again that no one else will book the room at the time you wish to use it.
The location is 27 McDoughon between Marcy and Tompkin in BedSty Brooklyn. This is about three blocks from Nostrand Avenue and Fulton near the A train at Nostrand.
If you want to go and check it out let me know and I'll introduce you to the guy. Get back to me or call me to let me know if you are interested.
GG
You read my mind man !! I was thinking about it and we have an another drummer to share the studio.
I found one is very close to my place but I've been busy, so I haven't check yet.
Tell me about the studio that you found.
I hope it's not too far away from me. How much is that ??

Hey George, glad you were able to connect. Thanks for pulling my coat to this. I see you met Bruce -- I knew him on Guam. Hipped me to some ways to boot a big band right.
