Gary Fritz (Pisces), born in New York City, was blessed by fate to be raised in a musical environment. Born from the union of a dancer / model and a drummer / percussionist, Gary was exposed to a wide variety of cultural flavors and musical styles at an early age. At 5 years old he began to study piano and performed his first recital at age 6. Placed in a music class in the 4th grade, Gary has pursued his love for music ever since. His public school studies have included training in Trumpet, French horn, Percussion, and Voice. In private study he also pursued Electric Bass, Drums, Congas, Latin & Ethnic Percussion, and Electronic Percussion.
In 1974, while studying music at Lincoln University, PA, Gary decided to pursue a professional musical career. Since that time he has performed a wide variety of musical styles and flavors including folk, pop, rock, rap, rhythm & blues, jazz, fusion, world beat, spoken word, big band, orchestra, and gospel. His talents have been featured in dance classes, dance companies, and on TV, cable, video & film soundtracks. He has also toured internationally since 1991.
Along with leading his own band, 7th Heaven, Gary's performance credits include some of the industry's top talents: George Benson, Alex Bugnon, The Black Rock Coalition Orchestra, The Brand New Heavies, Rev. James Cleveland, Charles Earland, Roberta Flack, Onaje Allan Gumbs, Ralph MacDonald, Vernon Reid, and The Winans just to name a few…

Hey Gary (Wicked), I haven't talked to you since IMOD in 1976. Looks like you took a pause from the 'power bass' to concentrate on your 'family gift' the drum. We (my wife MiMi and I) were in New York in May for our daughter's graduation from film school, but I couldn't find a number for you. I'm still singing and writing, mostly Gospel now, but I released a CD in 2007 that had a song that I wrote with you and Squeakie. Sad to say he passed in 1990. I'll tell you more: call me (724) 891-8215 or e-mail me: joby1@rocketmail.com. We have a hot new group, Re-Konception! that I think you'd enjoy. Check out our website at www.rekonception.com. Send me a mailing address and I'll ship you some of my/our music. Keep up the great work-I really enjoyed the music on your page. Is that your son on the conga?
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Joby (Joe Brown from Pittsburgh)

Hey Fritz, missed you on the last Onaje hit. Neal Clark filled the gap, but I missed you just the same. Hope all is well. Till the next one, on the one.
