I am a drummer, percussionist, and an educator. I began studying the drum rudiments in the drum corps at the age of ten. Soon I became interested in the drum set. Lucky for me, my next door neighbors were musicians. They began teaching me how to play the trap dums. I continued on to study under various teachers in the Jamaica, N.Y. area. I was introduced to the road at the age of eighteen. I began traveling around the country with The Moments. This proved to be a learning experience for me. I played on shows with groups such as : The Dells, The Manhattans, The Delfonics, The Intruders, Tyrone Davis, Wilson Pickett, The Temptations, Smokey & The Maricles, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Linda Jones, The Unifics, David Ruffin, Jerry Butler, The Bar Kays, The Soul Children, The Emotions, and many other groups from that period in music history. I also recorded as a studio Musician at All Platinum Records. After many years of playing around the New York City area, I decided to return to school to further my education. I received my BS from York College, in Jamaica,N.Y. and later on my MSEd. from Long Island University. I continued playing drums, while working on my degrees. I have been a Special Education Teacher in the NYC public school system for the past nineteen years. I also have my own band ,called Tase. We are presently playing weddings, corporate and social events, and recording our original material.
