Born & raised Oakland, California, Dale grew up listening to a very eclectic mix of music, from funk to country & western, but he's a jazz funk musician at heart. He began studying congas while attending Berkeley High School and soon became the drummer for the Afro-Haitian dance classes and the Jazz & Symphonic bands. He also studied music at The College of Alameda with Bill Bell and at Laney College in Oakland. This is when he began studying & piano, Jazz composition & arranging as well as delving deeper into traditional Afro-Cuban & Afro-Brazilian music and culture. He later went on to study Business/Marketing at Cal State Hayward.
Currently performing and touring with legendary R&B funk group ConFunkShun featuring Michael Cooper & Felton Pilate; R&B recording artist CASE & Terry Bradford from Celine Dion's band. His solo CDs, "The DC Initiative"2001 and "Clifton at Desmond" 2008, encompass all of the skills he's learned; Producing, Composing, Arranging, Performing as well as Marketing and Sales, Accounting etc...
