About Me:
Born and raised in Connecticut, I knew since the age of four that drums were it for me. 70's soul and funk were where it was at for me in '73. I will never forget two album covers that to this DAY scare the living hell out of me. Headhunters by Herbie Hancock and Last Days and Time by Earth Wind and Fire. I remember listening to those records daily back then, and staring at the album covers. Too bad we can't do that now.

My sister was into Kiss and Elton John and whatever was was popular in the mid 70's. I couldn't help but be influenced by the thngs that were out at that time. By the late 70's I was DEEP in the funk. P-Funk, Cameo, Brick, Slave, James Brown and all of the disco funk that had taken over the ariwaves. I played along to The Jacksons Live record all night long as well as the P-Funk and Commodores live albums too. I also got into Prince, the Time, and early rap (when it was rap music - and GOOD) and thanks to my cousin, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and RUSH were added to my musical gumbo. I also learned how to DJ after hearing Grandmaster Flash. I could actually scratch and was pretty good for a couple of years. Did a bunch of parties at home and started my mix tape collection (which I still have).

Off to college (Howard Univeristy) Got my BA from the school of business. I thought I was gonna be a record industry exec. I have too much integrity to do something like that though. While I was there I got into the marching band, eventualy beciming the section leader of the drum section. Partied, had a great time and got into jazz, fusion, go-go and nothing but rap music for like 6 years. Man I remember when EVERYTHING that came in hip hop out was amazing.

As I matured, I realized that after Snoop and them came out, hip-hop wasn't for me. I reurned to groove music and moved to NYC. Here I am in the big city. I got my self into a lot of different things - gigging with my current show Altar Boyz (www.altarboyz.com), Hubert Sumlin, Chuck Berry, Ben E. King, Ari Hest, Eviltwins, Footloose, Rent, Little Shop of Horrors, ..tick...tick... BOOM!, The CBS Early Show, the Today Show, Anya Singleton, Ben Eyler, Scott Jacoby, Mayisha, and The Color Purple.

I'm always looking for new music to get into and new people to work with. Talk to you soon.
