Profile Information

About Me:
Brian was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. to musician parents. His love affair with the drums began at age 3 and at that time his parents knew they had a child prodigy on their hands. Brian came up in the strong Pittsburgh tradition of jazz. He decided to follow in the foot steps of great Pittsburgh drummers like Kenny Clark, Art Blakey, Joe Harris, Greg Humphries, and Roger Humphries. In his teens, he started to expand his abilities by diving into Drum and Bugle Corps drumming. Later, he went on to play with Pittsburgh greats Kenny Blake, Dwayne Dolphin, Eric Kloss, Jimmy Ponder, Gene Ludwig, Dakota Staton, David Budway, Maureen Budway and Kenny Rankin. Brian's touring and recording credits includes: DeBarge, Bunny DeBarge,El DeBarge,Alexander O' Neal, Cherrelle, Libby Goines, Tom Schuman, Joe McBride, Jeffrey Osborne, Bobby Mcferrin, The Real Silk Band, Kenny Blake, Jenny Jones, Paisley Park Records, CBS/Tabu Records,Ingrid Chavez, and Jesse Johnson just to name a few. His international recording debut was on Johnson's CD, Bare My Naked Soul. Brian has toured Japan and Europe numerous times and has played almost every major European venue , including Wembley Arena and Royal Albert Hall in performances for the Royal family with Alexander O'Neal. He also has American and European television appearences under his belt some of which include: MTV Europe and BET on jazz. Besides being an in demand drummer,Brian is a solo artist, producer, composer, and author with three books to his credit. The world wide release of Edwards' debut CD, The Theorical Journey is set for 2008. Edwards' is already at work on the follow up CD to also be released later in 2008 on Theorical Music Group, his own indie label. Brian is a visionary and music powerhouse that has to be experienced to be believed.
